The Best Robot Floor Cleaners

We live in a day and age where we now have the option of a robot floor mop cleaning our floors for us. Now as amazing as it is, they aren’t all created equally, so which ones are dominating this market? Lucky for you, we have tried and tested them, so we’ve come up with a few answers. There are two main things that you should look for in a robot floor mop. The first is how well it actually sucks up dirt and the second is how well it is able to navigate around your home. The last thing you want is for the robot floor mop to be knocking things over, falling down the stairs, or even missing spots in your home.

Below we’ll go over which top three robot floor mops made our cut:

robotic-vileda
  • The winner is the Virobi robot floor mop by Vileda. This is a such a nifty little robot floor mop and it is the best value for money that we’ve seen so far. It does not suck up the dirt, it sweeps it up collecting it on a cloth that is fitted underneath the device. There are two cleaning cycles you can choose from – the 30-minute and the 120-minute one. What makes Virobi great is the fact that it does a great job at recognizing furniture and walls hence it changes its direction and covers a room completely. It fits under most furniture and also gets into all the nooks and crannies quite well. It’s a little bit noisy but nothing displeasing, you can still easily watch TV or have a conversation with it running in the background, unlike our 2nd choice, the Neato Robotics XV-12. At the end of the day it does a great job at picking up dust and dirt, so running it in between days where you sweep and mop will keep your place looking fresh and clean.
robotic-neato
  • The second place goes to the Neato Robotics XV-12, which is a great piece of equipment but is pretty pricey. Its design is very retro and a little chunky, but it does a great job of sucking up any dirt, dust and debris and fills up the compartment for dirt every time. Unfortunately, if you have a newborn or need to get a good sleep, this will annoy you – it is one of the loudest robot floor cleaners ever. I wish I was exaggerating, but it’s something that is so loud, you have to actually shout over it to speak. If you are out for most of the day, you can schedule it to do its job then. Its navigation is impressive and it can easily make its way over carpets or rugs. There is a downside though, as it still bumps into objects; even when it does bump into objects, it keeps trying to tackle its way through. So even though you can schedule it to clean while you’re out, it will probably get stuck somewhere which is not what you want for the price.
robotic-irobot_mint_plus

  • The third place goes to the Mint Plus. It is not a vacuum cleaner, it is actually a broom. The first thing you should know is that it uses reusable cloth pads. The way they are attached to the bottom is a bit awkward, but it will still manage to sweep across your floor picking up dirt and grime. It also does not have the best navigation system avoiding walls and getting into tight spaces. It shuffles around quietly and does pick up a fair amount of dust. It does work to get the dust off your floor by dragging it along and creating a ball of it. Cleaning the cleaning cloth is a chore as you will have to take off the dust by hand and then pop it in the wash. Even after doing this, the original freshness of the cloth just won’t be the same. While this product is okay, we wouldn’t really recommend it unless you just want some spot cleaning.
